Filmmaker's Perspectives

The filmmakers involved in the CCAJ project share their love for the process of filmmaking with the participants around the questions of cinema.

Centred/decentred

Godfather of the first Rencontres "A nous le cinéma!" organised in Germany, at the Cinéma Caligari Filmbühne in Wiesbaden (June 2023), the filmmaker Wim Wenders talks about his "decentred" path - both in life and in the cinema - in a dialogue with Alain Bergala; then he exchanges with the students who present their own films on the subject.

Motifs

Invited to the "A nous le cinéma !" meetings which took place in June 2022 at Ciné 104 (Pantin), filmmakers Marilyne Canto, Arnaud Larrieu, Ignacio Aguero and Mathieu Amalric talk about the films they discovered there, in the presence of their authors aged from 8 to 18 years old: an opportunity to question what can be a pedagogy of cinema.

Situation

Here's the moment when Sandrine Bonnaire and Jeanne Balibar, both actors and filmmakers who were the Godmothers of the project's 2019 edition came to the Cinémathèque to experience the CCAJ films, in the presence of the young people aged between 6 to 18 who created them.

Places and stories

In June 2018, school children from across the world met at the Cinémathèque to share a moment of magic with Agnès Varda, Nobuhiro Suwa and Guillaume Brac, godmother and godfathers of the Meeting « A nous le cinéma ! », investigating the places that inspire us to tell stories.

Play

"Why is playing so important in your films?". This is one of the questions children and teenagers of the CCAJ workshops have asked to Noémie Lvovsky and Thomas Salvador, the two “godfather” filmmakers who were invited to the International meeting of CCAJ, in June 2017.

Climate

In 2015-2016, 1000 children and teenagers filmed, in 12 countries throughout the world, what the weather is like where they live, in their region, in their country, and the climate around them. This project of Cinéma, Cent Ans De Jeunesse has been accredited by the COP 21. "Godfathers" filmmakers of the project filmed shots on this theme, too: Mathieu Amalric, Gilles Elie-dit-Cosaque, Franco Lolli, Nicolas Philibert, Juliana Rojas, Thomas Salvador, Nobuhiro Suwa. Their shots have been shown at Cinémathèque Française during the International Meeting of Cinéma, Cent Ans De Jeunesse « A nous le cinéma ! » in June 2016, with young people from all the world. Crossed screenings and exchanges animated by Alain Bergala, translated by Massoumeh Lahidji.
