Cineduca is an audiovisual education programme of the Consejo de Formación en Educación (National Education Administration of Uruguay) for students and teachers throughout the country.

It aims to teach the audiovisual language, to develop tools and sensibilities to understand and express oneself with this language and to generate opportunities for the development of audiovisual culture in educational communities.

Cineduca promotes audiovisual language not only as a didactic tool or resource, but also as a discourse. It is aimed at teachers from their basic training, with an approach that encourages working on audiovisual production projects by students and teachers. The programme is structured around a central coordination team and audiovisual coordinators in each teacher training centre, who develop training, research and outreach activities in the field of audiovisual culture, promoting the implementation of projects that encourage audiovisual alphabetisation through film and new media.

Every year, Cineduca organises a short film festival where the different films made by students from all over the country are presented.

Cineduca is the cultural partner of Cinéma, cent ans de jeunesse since 2019 and develops its workshops in public schools in Uruguay.
