Children’s Film Academy |
||
Children’s Film Academy is dedicated to film education for children and young people. Based in Mumbai, it has been set up by a group of practicing filmmakers and educationists from the premiere film institutes of India in the year 2015. CFA seeks to inspire and initiate children and young adults in explorations of the cinematic medium for creative expression. The academy offers filmmaking workshops and annual programs to schools and organizations so that young folk can go beyond viewing to a more active and creative engagement with the medium. In doing so, we also hope to kindle a basic aesthetic sensibility among the young minds for a cinema that is sensitive to the world around them. Working with government and non-government agencies, CFA aims to reach children across the economic, social and gender divide. The Academy undertakes projects on using film as a pedagogical tool, documentation and dissemination of children’s films. CFA also plans to set up a comprehensive archive of children’s films from across the world. 2016-2017 will be our first year in the international program Cinema cent ans de jeunesse, coordinated by the French Cinematheque.
