The mission of the Association des cinémas parallèles du Québec (ACPQ) is to bring together Quebec's non-commercial film organizations in order to promote film culture among Quebecers and to develop a diversified and quality film leisure activity.
Its program L'OEIL CINÉMA (L'Outil pour l'Éducation à l'Image et au Langage CINÉMAtographiques) offers all Quebec elementary and secondary school teachers who register free access to educational material that addresses a number of film-related themes. Practical workshops led by professionals are also offered at very interesting costs in primary and secondary schools, CEGEPs, libraries, youth centres, film festivals, cultural events, etc. |
Le laboratoire CinéMédias |

|
The CinéMédias Laboratory was founded in 2016 by Professor André Gaudreault of the Department of Art History and Film Studies at the Université de Montréal (Québec, Canada). This laboratory encompasses various branches of film research that revolve around questions such as technological evolution, variety of filmmaking practices in new media, genealogy of editing and cultural dissemination. As for the CINEX branch, it is interested in the "experiential" dimension of cinema, particularly among children and adolescents. It is within CINEX that Caroline Martin participates, as a postdoctoral researcher, in projects combining media education and scientific popularization for young audiences. She’s been a university and high school teacher for more than 15 years and she conducted her doctoral research at Concordia University on the teaching of cinema in the visual arts classroom. This project led her to develop the CINÉPROF research with ŒIL CINÉMA, which collected data from about 100 high school teachers in the province of Quebec who integrate cinema into their curriculum. Currently, she is developing a research project on the audiodescription of films for visually impaired and blind youth.
